Altagracia has been admitted to practice law in New York since April 2004. Altagracia completed her LLM at Hofstra University School of Law in 2002. In 1997, she concluded her master in legal and political science at La Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) . She is also admitted to practice law in the Dominican Republic since 1992.
Altagracia is admitted to practice in the United States District Court of New York (Northern and Southern Districts). She is a proud member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA), Brooklyn Women Bar Association (BWBA) and the Dominican Bar Association (DBA).
From the beginning of her career in New York, Altagracia has dedicated her efforts to represent accident victims such as car accident, trip and fall, construction accident victims and the like.
Altagracia successfully negotiated and obtained a $3.3 million settlement for a construction accident victim who was demolishing a chimney and was injured when a piece of dry cement fell on his left leg causing serious injuries.
Altagracia has successfully litigated construction accident cases and moved for summary judgement for violations of Labor Law Section 240 (1) and 241(6). She has obtained outstanding results for her injured clients.
In many cases, she has defeated summary judgment motions on the issue of liability, as well as, on the issue of threshold in car accident cases.
